Jamaican-born former Liverpool
and England football star will not take up the job as
technical director until November 1, but he is now in the island
to view Jamaica’s two World Cup games against Mexico and Honduras.
He was introduced officially at a reception at the Pegasus Hotel
in Kingston yesterday.
Barnes, who replaces Rene Simoes, believes Jamaica have a talented
group of players who have been exposed to the highest level and he
is confident that with the hard work, discipline, togetherness and
a strong team spirit, they can achieve great things.
